Abstract :
This paper focuses on the On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) performance evaluation methods for high performance fault-tolerant (HPFT) computers. By analyzing transaction features of Bank intermediary business (BIB), we design the BIBmodel, the database model and the transaction/frame model of bank intermediary business, and develop the BIB benchmark (BIBbench) as the performance testing suite of HPFT computers, build a performance testing architecture and environment for BIBmodel workload testing. Moreover, we adopt HP LoadRunner test tool to carry out some comparison tests on different SUTs (System Under Test). Four performance metrics are defined to quantify OLTP performance: parallel concurrent number (PCN), transaction processing response time (TRT), resource utilization (RU) and transaction processing per second of bank intermediary business (tpsBank). The case studies show BIBbench can provide an effective solution to analyze the OLTP performance of HPFT computers, which can be used for the machine design and application deployment.
