Abstract
This paper presents a BOR-PaRP (body of revolution surrounded by a parasitic ring with pins) antenna. Using the FDTD method, the BOR-PaRP antenna is designed to radiate a linearly polarized conical beam over a wide frequency range. The VSWR is less than 2 over a 1:7 frequency band ranging from 2.17 GHz to 15.27 GHz. The gain in the ¿ = 60° direction is 2.7 dBi at 3 GHz and 4.6 dBi at 10 GHz.
