  • Abstract
By optimizing the entire design of an electric vehicle, internal combustion engine vehicle performance levels may be achieved. Other advantages, such as increased safety may also be realized. The Eco Vehicle project was begun to prove out this concept. This ultra small vehicle will include a new drive system, as well as a structure used to house the batteries beneath the load floor. The use of more efficient power semiconductor devices would enable the vehicle to achieve maximum performance
