Abstract :
It is our social responsibility to solve the problems of current healthcare systems by creating bionano science and technology. Convergence of biotechnology, nanotechnology, and information technology will establish precision biology and personalized medicine. This paper presents innovative biology and medicine via nanosatellites (i.e. optical nanoantennae) with triple functions of targeting, imaging and gene regulations, and biological application specific integrated circuits (BASICs). Nanosatellites provide spectroscopic imaging of living cells, molecular optogenetics (i.e. the remote control of gene regulation and protein expression), and therapeutic applications. BASICs are developed to accomplish precise and repeatable characterizations of cellular dynamics. These cellular BASICs are facilitating significant advancements in quantitative cell biology and the foundation for precision biology, cell reprogramming, high-speed biologic microprocessors, drug screening, molecular diagnostics, and personalized medicine.
