Abstract

Main purpose of this paper is to outline options for utilization of information from Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) for creation of pressure maps. Further, a brief review of possible methods of meteorological pressure gauging is put on. Pressure information is also used on board aircraft. Transported replies from SSR contain information about altitude which is measured among others on barometric principle. Such information received by passive system could serve as a foundation for creation of atmospheric pressure map.
