Abstract
Microminiaturization of RF and microwave amplifiers and oscillators with vacuum or semiconductor devices is limited significantly by the large dimensions of elements with distributed parameters, such as quarter wave transformers, dividers, equalizers, etc. Their lengths are equal to a quarter or a half wavelength at operating frequency. At the same time, the length of such elements can be decreased many times by using slow-wave structures (SWSs)
