Abstract :
To realize the real-time rendering for regular and irregular military symbols, it proposed a terrain matching method based on the simplification of control points. The elevation values of the irregular military symbols were obtained primarily in the method. Then the elevation curve was differentiated and smoothed for times. And the final control points were obtained after the merging the initial control points. The corresponding three-dimensional model was generated after plotting on two-dimensional electronic map with the method. Experimental results showed that the model could guarantee real-time matching and obtain better matching results. The military symbols reflected terrain undulation well, thus displayed information of battlefield situation more precisely.
