Abstract
The paper describes the development of Applied EcoDesign (design for environment) from its initial stage in the early nineties to its present form and explores further developments in the future. Tremendous changes have taken place in the field; from in isolated ´inward-green´ looking technical activity, it has expanded into a business-integrated activity which is beneficial (materially, immaterially, emotionally) to many stakeholders. In the future, the full potential of the Applied EcoDesign concept is still to be much better explored
