Title :
Semaphores for the neutral handling of conflicting information in an iterated knowledge fusion process

Abstract :
In this paper, two semaphores-oriented approaches to the neutral handling of conflicting information in a syntax-based knowledge fusion process are investigated. It is shown that semaphores that are asserted using the (logic-based) knowledge representation language itself can interact with the fused knowledge in non-trivial ways. Conditions under which the process can be iterated while a neutral point of view is followed with respect to the conflicting sources are then explored.
