Abstract :
The main features of a software to simulate power plants are presented. Based on the object-oriented paradigm, a set of generic elements related with the main components required to simulate power plants were designed, developed and tested, these elements include process equipment and electric devices. With a graphic editor, the electric and process diagrams can be built and simulated. This software provides to user a calculating tool for the simulation parameters of each one of the generic elements of the diagram. The bases of these calculations are the design data and operation data of the actual equipment. To test and validate the simulation results, the feed water system, the water side of high-pressure section of the heat recovery steam generator and the high-pressure section of the steam turbine of a cycle-combined power plant were selected. The results obtained have a good precision with respect to the reference data of a full-scope simulator of a cycle-combined power plant.
