Abstract
Described is a new and efficient thyristor-circuit analysis program NETCAP - II based on the tableau approach. The tableau approach, whose principle of analysis is mathematically equivalent to the state-space approach, is nontrivially modified for thyristor circuits and its numerical performance is shown to be distinct from that based on the statespace approach. It should be stressed that the initial-value computation after switching actions and the detection of network disconnection due to ideal switching actions are automatically handled without any recourse to the network graph of the given thyristor circuit. Another feature is that any program thus implemented can be extended for more complex thyristor circuits, say from static to kinestatic energy conversion systems. An extension to an induction-motor load will be presented.
