Abstract :
We are using different approaches of gain flattening in EDFAs without using additional components. By using the gain flattening approach-III, the transmission of sixteen channels at 40 Gb/s wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) over the transmission distance of 490 km by single mode fiber and dispersion compensating fiber at the span of 70 km with channel spacing of 200 GHz is made possible. We observed the good quality and power of received signal with the NRZ-DPSK format
