Abstract
Design, implementation and experimental results of supplying of an induction motor by a 36 thyristor cycloconverter are presented in this paper. Among the mains of an induction machine at variable speeds, the cycloconverter is a direct one. At first a one-phase control was done so as to validate the cycloconverter control. The next step was the extension of this command to the other legs of the cycloconverter to supply a three-phase reactive load. The synchronization and coordination problems were solved
