Abstract
A novel active-R, electronically tunable, digitally programmable square-wave generator circuit is presented. Using only resistors without recourse to any external capacitors, the circuit is attractive for monolithic implementation. The feasibility of interfacing with any mini/microcomputer- or microprocessor-based system is demonstrated. Experimental results obtained using the operational amplifier 741 and the operational transconductance amplifier 3080 are presented. Although these devices have some imperfections, they are low-cost devices that can be useful in applications where wave-shape and frequency-stability requirements are not very stringent
