Abstract
Data-parallel applications often use a mesh as the communication structure for their local-communication operations. To obtain the best possible performance, when executing on heterogeneous networks, it is important to match this mesh with the topology of the underlying network. This paper presents and compares strategies for matching meshes with heterogeneous networks. Our experiments have shown that some of the strategies presented do decrease the time spent in local communication and improve the performance of data-parallel applications
