Abstract
Thanks to its 19-degree sloping roof clad in solar panels, the ZEB pilot house in Larvik, Norway, is able to produce more than three times the energy it needs ??? very useful on those long, cold Scandinavian winter nights. Designed by Norwegian architects Sn??hetta, the solar panels combine with geothermal energy from energy wells in the ground to produce power, with the roof´s 150m2 photovoltaic array expected to produce 19,200kWh every year. As the house is capable of functioning on 7,272kWh per year, there is enough energy left over to power an electric car for the same period.
