Abstract
This paper reviews the development history of three-dimensional (3D) parametric geometrie modeling briefly. As an application instance of 3D parametric design in enterprise production, the raw materials blending yard design is presented. How to improve the design elliciency of the raw materials blending yard of steel plant is the key point of this paper, in which 3D parametric geometric modeling method and some related prevalent sofhvare, such as AutoCAD, I-DEAS, ProIE, UG, CATIA, etc are used. How to utilize the current Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to design the raw materials blending yard in harmony and how to replace the traditional 2D design & manufacture pattern by 3D design & manufacture pattern are also discussed. It is proved that expanding the pure 3D parametric part modeling concept to the establishment of 30 parametric assembly library, full correction technology, FEM & modal analysis, 2D parametric drafting fields, etc is a very effective solution to the problem of complicated parametric design of large-scale serialization product.
