Abstract
The author proposes a generalized short algorithm for the calculation of the discrete cosine transform of data arrays with a length equal to an integral power of two, plus 1. It is shown that there is a class of algorithms which make it possible to perform the necessary calculations with more speed and accuracy, and with fewer arithmetic operations and memory accesses, than the previously known algorithms
