Abstract
Variety, uncertainty or combinations of both often cause complexity in operational as well as strategic business decisions. Organization structure decisions can reduce both variety and uncertainty through focusing processes at a limited number of related aspects. In this paper complexity measures for the evaluation of structures are discussed and the principle of focused processes is extended for use in combination with the evaluation tools for real options.
