  • Abstract
In spite of recent IT recession, wireless communication MMIC developments have been continued. In this few years, cellular phones including 3G(W-CDMA) terminals at 800 MHz-2 GHz had played an important role for the MMIC development and transceiver system MMIC chip set had been made. Instead of cellular phones, broad-band If wireless terminals including W-LAN, ETC (Electronic Toll Collection system) and 4G are becoming a new driving force. In this paper, the recent Japanese activities of the developments on W-CDMA and GSM MMIC chip-sets and the attempts for direct conversion receiver utilization are reviewed, The activities of W-LAN, ETC/DSRC and multiband MMIC developments at 2-6 GHz-band are also introduced.
