  • Abstract
A 0.5-3 GHz high linearity single balanced mixer has been developed using 0.5 /spl mu/m enhancement mode pHEMT technology. Features of the design include an integral LO buffer amplifier-active balun with drive waveshaping and a sum terminating diplexer that work together to provide an input third order intercept point of +30 dBm from a drive level of only -3dBm. The ideal mixing device drive waveform provides very low conversion loss and excellent LO drive saturation characteristics. The mixer operates from a 3-5 V supply and consumes 21 mA.
