Abstract :
In this paper, phenomena of charge trapping in cyclic olefin copolymers were studied using thermal and optical discharge methods as well as thermal pulse technique for charge mapping. Two deep trap level (4.1 eV and 5.2 eV) were revealed in pure and in DANS-doped Topas® 8007 films by means of PSD, in contrast to the TSD results that point towards only one level at 0.75 eV. In the future, measurements with non-polar dyes included in the polymer matrix could be performed which would allow probing space-charge effects exclusively.
