Abstract
Absorption currents observed at various temperatures in charging mode with ethyl cellulose (EC) foil samples, prepoled under different field conditions, have been found to follow the I ∝t -n (i.e., Curie-von Schweidler law) time dependence with different values of n at short and long times. The isochronals have been observed to be characterized with a peak located at 60°C. Activation energy values for this peak are observed to vary from 0.5 to 2.4 eV. In some cases the observed current tends to increase with time in the longer-time region, indicating the possibility of the existence of a peak at still longer times, similar to that found in space-charge-limited transients
