Abstract
The similarity of the Berlekamp-Massey (B-M) algorithm and the Welch-Berlekamp (W-B) algorithm is demonstrated in showing that both algorithms are special instances of one iterative modeling procedure. In particular, from Reed and Solomon´s original problem statement a W-B type algorithm is directly derived through a system-theoretic interpolation approach
