Abstract
From time dependences of the electret potential under different constant charging currents, as well as from the I-V characteristics and TSP (thermally stimulated polarization) curves, it is found that the process of polarization build-up in PVDF (polyvinylidenefluoride) consists of three stages. Strong polarization nucleates at the beginning of the second stage and its further growth is controlled by a process similar to the propagation of domain walls in ferroelectrics. The following data were obtained experimentally: a coercive field of 48 MV/m, a saturated polarization of 58 mC/m2, and an effective mobility of charge carriers of 10-8 m2/(V-s)
