Abstract
It was shown previously that negative corona treatment of Teflon FEP decreases the thermal stability of the electrets. Thermally stimulated discharge measurements of treated samples presented, besides the usual peak of 210°C, a new broad current peak in the temperature range of 100 to 160°C. Further investigations were carried out on N 2, CO2, O2, and dry air in order to study the effect of the corona atmosphere on the corona treatment. In N 2 no effect was observed, while for CO2 and O2 a well-defined current peak appears with a maximum at 120°C. In dry air no significant differences were observed when compared with the results for normal air
