Abstract
The Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory quadrupole power supplies are in operation since the early 90s. Despite their acceptable performance, recent developments in switchmode power supply control techniques and components allows for improvements today. Hence, some modifications in these power supplies are proposed, such as the implementation of the interleaved technique with redundancy, replacement of hysteresis control by PWM control, use of fiber optics to trigger the switches. In this paper we present the improvements already made and the preliminary test results.
