Abstract
Vehicle positioning techniques have a broad application in ITS. The research of positioning information fusion methods is highly requested. Several novel information fusion methods on positioning purpose, which proved, excels the conventional single employed positioning techniques by various researchers are studied and a comparison of these methods is given in this paper. In order to improve positioning accuracy for respective requirements of various ITS services, and have each method take the complement role to reduce harmful interference, an integrative scheme of the discussed methods is proposed. A conclusion is drawn after giving the mathematical proof that the integrated scheme is able to provide even more accurate results than its component fusion subsystems.
