Abstract
Brief overview of device description methods as Finite State Machine is suggested. The comparative characteristic of FSM, SDL and UML languages according to the possibilities of Finite State Machine representation is held. The most suitable as to the representation of FSM program realizations are chosen for each of these languages. The main ways of future work in this field are determined.
