Abstract
A 107-cm 110 degrees 16:9 direct-view CRT (cathode ray tube) for HDTV (high definition television) has been developed. The largest 16:9 glass bulb, which has been designed as one of the EIAJ standard types, is used in combination with a properly designed Invar shadow-mask of 0.7-mm pitch, a new enlarged aperture OLF gun, and a precisely assembled deflection yoke system. The displayed HDTV picture of this CRT has been confirmed to present an excellent impression of high brilliance and reality, as is expected for the largest direct-view HDTV CRT.<>
