Abstract
Interview data from eight radical technological innovation projects suggest the following factors as contributing to project success: strong support of committed champions; individual characteristics of those champions; accessibility and support by top management; and significant or serendipitous events. Factors acting to suppress technical project progress were: corporate culture; and current requirements on operating units
