Abstract
This paper presents an investigation into the use of process modeling to decibels complex processes in the healthcare sector, with reference to the process of Surgery and Registration in China. We argue that process models are generally useful as a means for understanding, analyzing and improving complex health processes. Also, we show that using these models it is possible to discover process bottlenecks and low-quality information, to identify cross-functional boundary problems, and to focus assessment of information quality in the various processes of the hospital.
