Abstract :
The authors address the following two questions. What are the algebraic irreducible systems whose external behavior can be described by means of differential algebraic equations only (in which case the external behavior is closed)? Does some specific observability property (called universal observability) imply that external behavior is closed? No complete answers are given. Some partial results are provided
