Abstract :
This paper reports on a study of KTN-based ferroelectric devices. KTN compositions with 40 to 60% of tantalum were investigated at microwave frequencies. Several basic circuits (coplanar waveguides, stub resonators and interdigital capacitors) were realized to inter-compare the performances of the different compositions. Maximum tuning factors of 25.8% for stubs and 39.5% for interdigital capacitors were got under a 60-kV/cm DC field with the KTaO0.45Nb0.55O3 composition. The values of commutation quality factors got for interdigital capacitors appeared to be slightly dependent on the composition.
