Abstract :
In order to provide various personalized services, multiple intelligent gadgets that we call the intelligent gadget network(IGN) can cooperate together through the wireless network using the 802.15.4 technology known as ZigBee. For personalized services, IGN should be interoperable with the IP network which provides well-defined and useful services. In this paper, we propose IGN2IP that interconnect IGN with the IP network. The key idea of IGN2IP is to establish virtual connection before sending data and to distinguish virtual connections through virtual connection identifier. We think that IGN2IP can remarkably reduce 50% of the transmission overhead compared with 6LowPAN.
