Abstract :
The general characteristics of a new power processing circuit called the Triport/sup 1/ are described. The Triport is classified into ac and dc types and its relation to other power processing circuits is established. System arrangements of dc and ac Triports are outlined and comparisons drawn with conventional systems. Finally, some brief comments on discrete Triports are given.
