FOX; early experience with a new environmental control system which uses low power radio links for communication

This paper describes the development of the FOX environmental control system and outlines some of the benefits of the design approach adopted. The FOX control unit is about the size of a large TV remote control and is supplied with the necessary peripherals. The control unit features a large operating button and a double row of LEDs. These provide a scanning selection scheme and an indication of the status of the peripherals
