Abstract :
A 2D-beam-forming device consisting of a Rotman-lens and a holographic antenna is presented. The frequency-scanning property of the holographic antenna combined with the phase control feeding of the Rotman lens allows the beam-scanning in two planes with simultaneous reduction of the complexity compared to a N×N phased array with similar beam-forming functionality. The paper includes the device design process and simulated radiation patterns. The functionality of the antenna concept is verified by measurements.
