Abstract :
The chirp characteristics of 40-GHz mode-locked lasers integrated with electroabsorption modulators and chirped gratings are investigated. Nearly transform-limited pulses of less than 4 ps are generated over a wide range of frequencies from 38 GHz to 41 GHz.
