Abstract :
An X-band compact and multi-channel antenna module for active phased array antennas has been developed. A GaN (Gallium Nitride) HEMT (High Electron Mobility Transistor) is employed to realize high power amplification. Other necessary components for active phased array antennas, such as low noise amplifiers, digital phase shifters, switches, and RF divider/combiner are all included in a thin flat printed wiring board (PWB). Resulting measured data are presented in this paper, demonstrating this module is easily suitable for various types of active phased array antennas.
