Abstract :
A method of mathematical simulation of helical slow-wave structures with inhomogeneous (by azimuth) shields and with dielectric filling of the space between helix and shield is suggested in this work. The method is based on the idea of the helix in the aspect of an equivalent long line. Parameters of the line are determined by summation of partial parameters of homogeneous sectors of transverse cross-section of the SWS. A design program for the helical slow-wave structure SWSM2.0 is proposed. The dispersion characteristics calculated by this program, and those received experimently, are both analyzed. The influence of screening constants of electric and magnetic fields on the dispersion characteristics is also investigated.
