Abstract :
In-building propagation of electromagnetic waves is addressed. Signal strength within buildings is influenced by various propagation mechanisms depending on building construction and material, and other architectural features. Nowadays buildings with green facades, i.e. plants attached to it are becoming popular. Another feature of buildings and building facades are window blinds, and other parallel plate waveguidelike structures. This paper is focused on transmission properties of a green facade and parallel plate waveguide array. The purpose of this paper is to present a simple approach of calculating field transmission through such structures with application to ray-based propagation tools for outdoor-to-indoor propagation prediction.
