Abstract
This paper presents an algorithm for tuning the parameters of a type-2 fuzzy controller that functions as the feedforward controller in an adaptive control scheme. Both the consequent weights and the footprint of uncertainty (FOU) associated with the antecedent fuzzy sets are adjusted simultaneously. Simulation results, obtained using the nonlinear pH neutralization process, are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed learning rule.
