Abstract
An effective and distributed fuzzy controller is proposed and optimized in register-transfer-level to support quality of service in the IEEE 802.11 media access control in wireless network communications. In mobile wireless networks, the proposed fuzzy controller allocates bandwidths for different traffics, detects saturation of performances, and criticizes satisfaction of traffic specifications. To embed the controller in computation-and energy-limited wireless mobile nodes, field programmable gate array fast prototyping methods for speed, space, and power consumption optimizations are proposed. The experiments show that the prototyping is optimized in accordance with specification and the proposed adaptation approach of the controller.
