  • Abstract
In this paper, a dual-polarized antenna set for ultrawideband (UWB) handheld applications is presented. The proposed structure is intended for communication with circularly-polarized antennas located in base stations. It consists of two orthogonal lightly skewed dipoles with elliptic branches. In the operating frequency range, the antennas show good impedance matching and negligible group delay and gain variations. Therefore, the structure is suitable for transmitting and receiving UWB signals in the frequency range between 3.5 GHz and 4.5 GHz.
