The paper draws heavily on two complementary approaches namely strategic benchmarking and “fit as profile deviation” to demonstrate that the degree of adherence to an ideal profile of critical technological and managerial capabilities has a positive impact on the performance of aerospace subcontractors. This is investigated from a three-country perspective
