Abstract
We review two types of resonant antennas in the optical regime. The first one is designed to control the emission of artificial two-level system that emit single photons. The second type of antenna allows controlling the emission spectrum and directivity of IR incandescent sources. Both types of antennas take advantage of surface waves to control the emitters life time and the emission direction.
