Abstract :
In 1992 Sony was the first in the world to market a civilian lithium-ion secondary battery. This had a major effect on not only the electronics sector but also created major expectations from the manufacturers of equipment that uses secondary batteries. In 1993 Sony decided to select Nissan Motor, which was working mainly on industrial secondary batteries for EVs. With which to conduct joint development to expand the business with the previously mentioned consumers at the core while growing both the technology and the business. The first fruits of this research was a high-energy lithium-ion battery system that was developed for the ZEV exhibited at the 30th Tokyo Motor Show in 1995. Efforts are being taken to increase the performance of this system and to exploit the possibilities of batteries for HEV
