Abstract
The value of the standard formation enthalpy of all different natures of CFx samples of fluorocarbons CFx(sol) has been calculated statistically from all experimental series and found to be equal to 48.52±1.63 kcal/mol. It is shown that the novel superstoichiometrical fluorocarbon of the general formula CF1.18-1.33 is the most common fluorocarbon semi-industrial material in existence today. Its application in lithium cells gives a maximum theoretical electrical capacity close to 900 mAhrs/g. The theoretical estimations shows that extreme achievable discharge current density of a Li-cell made from hybrid cathodes on a low-temperature dicarbon monofluoride basis with “liquid cathodes”
