Abstract :
The paper examines low-dimensional effects in the process of electron emission from carbon nanoparticles using the data obtained by scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) techniques. The nanoparticles-hill-shaped nanoobjects-are generated in various sizes and configurations on a diamond-like carbon film surface in the presence of organochloric adsorbate using an STM-lithographer. It has been established that the electron surface potential barrier decreases for smaller nanoobject heights.
